New Trail Development

Montgomery County is cooperating with a land developer in Plymouth Township to install a new short railroad line.   In the next year or so, Trail users should expect delays in the area between Conshohocken and Norristown and will need to watch for flagmen and signs that will give updates of closures, if any.  any closures will be for short duration and are expected to occur during daytime hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Montgomery County is building a new bridge facility on the Oaks Stone Arch Bridge over the Perkiomen Creek in order to separate Trail users from the roadway.   To complete the work in the shortest possible time, the bridge will be closed for a period of up to 4 months starting Mid-May or June, 2007 through August, 2007.   Trail users who use the trail for commuting should plan ahead for the closure.   The new Audubon Loop Trail will continue to link the Schuylkill River Trail with the Perkiomen Trail, giving trail users a detour connection during construction.

Montgomery County is still working with the developer of the Riverview condominiums in Conshohocken to finish up the construction along the trail.   The Trail is now open and makes a connection to the new Cross County Trail.   Trail users should expect to see occasional work along the Trail and should use appropriate caution in the area.   In addition, the County will be relocating a short portion of the Schuylkill River Trail at the east side of Harry Street, which will entail some delays or detour, yet to be determined
