Because the Trail passes along or through private property and sensitive flood plain properties, access for parking points along the Wissahickon Green Ribbon Trail will be limited to the existing Fairmount Park trail head in Chestnut Hill at Northwestern Avenue and at the Militia Hill section of the Fort Washington State Park in Whitemarsh Township. Limited parking is planned for the W. Valley Green Road / Stenton Avenue area and along W. Valley Green Road at the Philadelphia Cricket Club.
In addition to the major trail head access points, visitors who ride bicycles to the Trail can access the trail at various street crossing areas, including Northwestern Avenue, Stenton Avenue, W. Valley Green Road, Bethlehem Pike at Morris Road. Springfield Township is also planning a system of trails that will link Flourtown and Erdenheim villages to the Trial. Of course, visitors who use the Schuylkill River Trail and the Cross County Trail will have a seamless access from both of those regional trails.
